The Poor Boys developed after Ed and Gary Craig were drafted into the Army.

Gary Graham and Bob Nigg along with two other Lake of the Ozark musicians, with the direction of John Herring, their manager, created an amazing show group that toured the United States and other parts of the world including Viet Nam.

The Spartans land a Recording Contract with Keltone Records. The Spartans recorded and

released two records with Keltone and produced six recordings which where not released.
